AppHouse UK has developed the first app for Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District councils.

'Big Local App Bromsgrove and Redditch' - available for iPhone and iPad users - contains information ranging from bin collection times to cinema listings.

Grant Stain is the Managing Director: "The simplicity of it is the beauty of it.

AN APP featuring local news and information covering the borough is now freely available for iPhone and iPod touch users.

The Big Local App Solihull brings together local news feeds, Solihull Council information, Cineworld and Arts Complex listings, a local business directory, and a Solihull College feed.

The App was officially launched by outgoing Solihull Mayor and keen iPhone user, Councillor Ian Courts.

Ian Courts said: “The Council is always looking for new ways of making information available to residents, and this free app is ideal, as it gives you the chance to have information about both the Council, and the wider borough in your pocket.”

The Solihull App is the latest in a line of Big Local Apps appearing across the country, following on from the Redditch and Bromsgrove version.

It can be downloaded free of charge from the iTunes store, and will be available for Android smartphones soon.
